Item; RARE CASED DEANE PERCUSSION 16 BORE DOUBLE BARRELLED SHOTGUN

DETAIL; BARRELS. 27 1/2″ Damascus Steel brown barrels with address “George & John Deane. (Makers to H.R.H. Prince Albert.) No 30 King William Street. London Bridge” on rib. Three cleaning rod loops. The barrels marked with view and proof marks and the calibre “16″. Also engraved under one barrel load information; ” “2.3/4 DRs Powder.” and on the other “1.1/4.oz Shot” The huts also marked with clear view marks. Platignum breech plugs. The area around the nipples and the nipples themselves in perfect condition, absoloutly no damage or corrosion. The engraving crisp and undamaged.
STOCK; Straight, one-piece figured walnut 15″ at centre. A pleasing patina has built up through time. Minimal scattered dents and dings. Metal buttplate still showing original black. Finely chequered wrist and fore end. Vacant Gold escutchen on top of wrist.
LOCKS; Finely engraved flat locks with floral designs and Bloodhound hunting. Also the name “George & John Deane”. Flat sided engraved hammers with “Deane’s Patent” and the serial number “483″. The trigger guard retains 90% of its black. The Standing breech and upper tang area are well engraved with a dog hunting and floral designs.
CASE & ACCESSORIES; Mahogany with military corners, leather lined with trade lable for 46 King William street, London. Turned button bone handles on each compartment lid. Complete with all accessories to shoot, including flask & oil bottle by Hawksley. Shot, wads & cutter, correct tools and spring clamp.
